The Contact Photo Festival in Toronto Canada is held every spring. The photo festival features over 100 exhibits from various photographers and is spread across the entire city. Today I travelled to the Dundas West section of Toronto, Canada to view the photography exhibits and do some street photography.
During my visit to the strip of Dundas West between Ossington and Lansdowne in Toronto Canada, I was able to visit 5 exhibits within a 1 kilometre distance. As always, I carry a camera and as I was taken by the life the neighbourhood as taken. New restaurants, stores and bars have been cropping up for the past couple of years, creating an visually intriguing neighbourhood to photograph. Adding to the body of work that I have been building of Canadian people and places. This image will be featured in my Toronto body of work.
The feature image above is of a young man simply doing some early spring cleanup in his yard. I liked the visual and approached him and asked him if he minded that I take some images of him. He immediately “struck the pose”, and I just love his expression. Although the image is posed, it was not at the least guided by myself.
