Look Into the Eyes
When I travel to remote areas in the world, I love to photograph people. Sometimes, serendipity leads to me some of my most potent imagery, like this intense portrait of a Tibetan man that we met in the rural northern China countryside.
Cold stare of Tibetan man wearing a mask in China
Given that the man was wearing a mask or scarf to shield himself against the harsh sand blowing that day forces the viewer to examine the eyes. We have all heard the expression that eyes are the “windows to the soul”. This image captures the powerful emotion in the eyes, which differentiates between a mediocre and an excellent shot.
