Path through the dark hedges
The Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland has become a trendy tourist destination. The street of beautiful beech trees with their wild spiral branches was used in Season 2, Episode One of the Game of Thrones. As a result, the magnificent and picturesque scene have made the street one of the most photographed locations in Northern Ireland.
The street is now closed off to vehicle traffic, due to the vast number of tourists and tourist busses visiting. The trees were initially planted in the 1800s by the Stuart family. The impressive arrangement of trees was intended to impress people approaching their mansion (Gracehill House).
