Post-war buildings in Berlin German
I love walking and photographing the buildings with their unique architecture in Berlin, Germany. The German Democratic Republic (GDR) rebuilt the East Berlin capital architecture and returned it to international modernism. The postwar reconstruction architects built what the German country needed, and the Socialist Unity Party desired. What they desired were huge skyscrapers in the city center.
The buildings and their architecture were unique and distinct, typically several stories high, and much of it still stands today. The numerous buildings in this photograph are clean, and each building has a store and restaurants on the ground floor. The GDR also built the Alexanderplatz television tower.
