Vintage sailing ship from the famous Mystic Seaport in Connecticut
The Mystic Seaport was established in 1932 and is now home to a must-see nautical museum. The vintage 3 mast sailing ship Charles Morgan in this image is a permeant resident of the seaport. The old sailing ship is one of the last remaining whaling vessels in the United States. When whaling commerce dominated the economics of New England, there were over 2700 vessels in the fleet.
Charles W. Morgan
Charles Morgan sailboat was built in 1841 and measures just under 107 feet in length, and she had a 28-foot beam. The tallest mast on the boat was 110 feet above the deck. She was in operation for over 80 years on 37 commercial voyages. The cheap stock photo here put the vessel in a silhouette shot during sunset.
