Ellis Island hospital wing hallway leading the large common rooms where dozens of hospital beds one stood.
Each wing at the Ellis Island abandoned hospital has a corridor with several rooms, a medical dispensary supply room, and a large standard room at the end that housed many hospital beds. The immigration hospital at Ellis Island was used until it was abandoned in 1957 and remained as it stood almost 75 years ago.
Hospital Common Beds Ward
The room in this photo is one of the dozens in the hospital. It was the common hospital ward with a dozen or more beds. The room has cleared out, and all that remains is the cold cement and crumbling floor tiles. A single antique chair sits in the center of the large room for photographic interest.
