About Dan Kosmayer

Dan Kosmayer (aka kozzi) is a professional travel and stock photography with experience in all aspects of the industry, from fine art to stock photography. From a Kodak X15 Instamatic camera and a homemade darkroom Dan pursued his passion for photography through his life. He has won several awards for his photography, has been featured in prominent photography magazines such as Black and White Magazine, and has even had his work be featured in the Centre of Fine Art Gallery in Denver. He then transformed his hobby into a full-time profession, and creating a stock photography company that would enable the masses access to stock-photography, rather than just those with big enough budgets. His vision, Kozzi Images, however, never took off. Competing against multi-billion dollar companies is always challenging, doing it mostly by yourself is even more so. Kozzi Images, however, provides Dan with not only invaluable experience in the stock image industry, but also a massive collection of images.

Today, Dan has a portfolio of over 200,000 published images, with another 600,000 in his database – placing him amongst the top stock photographers in the world. While the business of Kozzi Images did not pan out, the efforts were not in vain. He aims to live the rest of his life perusing his passion of photography, and travel to the parts of the world he has yet to see. Though his repertoire of images covers everything from a spoon to landmarks, he prefers travel photography above all else. He has currently visited over 30 countries, and loves to take photographs that capture the culture and relationships of the people and places he visits. Thus far his most memorable trips include capturing the glaciers of Antarctica, the monks in Tibet, the spirit bears in the British Columbian rainforest, and the beautiful people of India. Wherever his next trip takes him, he is sure to capture the beauty of the place and its people. His wish to help other aspiring businesses and artists has not wavered, however, and now alongside photography he aims to inform, help, and teach aspiring photographers and business owners the ins-and-outs of photography, processing programs such as Lightroom and Photoshop, and the business of images.
