Military Museum Havanna Cuba

The massive 18th-century fortress, measuring 700m from end to end and covering a whopping 10 hectares, initially built to protect the eastern side of the Havanna harbor. The military fort was built in the late 1700s and is the biggest fortress in the Spanish colonial, designed to cover the weakness in Havana’s city defenses. The Fortress of San Carlos de la Cabana is currently a military museum.

Fortaleza de San Carlos Havana Cuba

The fortress fires a cannon daily from the Fortaleza. The cannon fire was initially to signal the closure of the City Gates and harbor, but now is a popular feature for tourists.
