Red leaf maple

Red Leaf Maple falls into a couple of primary groups. The first grouping of maples is Native Maples, consisting of Red Maple and Freeman’s Maple. The lesser known red leaf maple is the native maple that grows in southern Ontario and is featured in this photograph. This image of the red fall colour leaf sits on top of a pile of fallen leaves in the Ontario forest.

Maple trees are impressive shade trees that grow pretty high (16 metres) and have a wide spread of leaves and branches (15 meters).
