Killarney National Park Forest moss covered trees

Killarney National Park is located in Southern Ireland near the town of Killarney, about 90 kilometers from Cork. The national park is Irelands oldest, established in 1932. Killarney National Park was added to UNESCO in 1981, due to its ecological diversity.

Native Oak Woodland

The park’s forest, as seen in this picture, contains many sizeable moss-covered oak trees. Even in mid-summer, when I visited the park, the forest floor was still lush with greenery. The park’s forest woodland is lush and is one of the hallmarks of Killarney National Parks Forest.
